Hydrocarbons

Hydrocarbons are compounds comprised exclusively of carbon and hydrogen. They are the dominant components of crude oil and processed petroleum hydrocarbons. The molecular structure of these compounds varies from the simplest - methane, a constituent of natural gas - to the very heavy and complex.
